C300 Conform Line

Brand new C300 conform line including pay-in, feedstock straightening, extruder, cooling trough, dancer, and take-up

High Speed Grooving machine

Customer required a proprietary process to add external features to fibre optic plastic jacket. EDM developed and built a machine featuring a high speed precision motor along with electrical controls to integrate on to existing production line.

Plastic Extrusion Line Upgrade

Complete upgrade of a plastic jacketing line for a company supplying sub sea cables. EDM Technical designed, built and installed the upgrades, including two brand new caterpillar haul-offs. Entire upgrade was carried out on-site in a four week period minimising down time for the customer.

4-way buncher refurbishment

EDM competely overhauled a 4-way bunching machine that is no longer available from the original manufacturer. The machine was completely stripped down, cleaned and powder coated and then re-assembled using new components. The refurbishment also included a new electrical panel to ensure electrical safety standards were met

Twin-Head Coiler Controls Upgrade

Complete conversion of control system and gear to AC drives and motors

Dual reel auto-changeover traversing coiler

A unique, bespoke solution for a customer making a product with a non-symetrical cross section. Traditionally, carriage type coilers will "flip" the product on reel changeover, which in this case was not acceptable. EDM employed an industrial "Cobot" to solve the issue.

Thermal Cycle Test Rig

An innovative and unique solution allowing a customer to control voltage and current delivered to a test sample in a temperature-controlled envirenment. Mechanical, Electrical and programming provided for all heating, environment and monitoring control, along with commissioning and calibration.

Inspection Coiler

A cost effective coiling solution for a customer looking to improve working and environmental safety within their facility. The coiler can operate at any height between 0.5 and 1,5 metres, and features an automated retracting spindle, allowing complete coils to simply be rolled away from the winder.
